Business Development Manager
Job Description
A Business Development Manager is responsible to constantly seek new business from shippers through outside and inside sales efforts as well as maintain existing business relationships. Soar provides best in class transportation services. We do that through combination of our own trucks, independent contractors and 3rd party carriers (Brokerage) that best matches the need of every shipment. We need competitive, hands on professionals who know how to qualify, price, position, and effectively engineer solutions for large sophisticated shippers as well as smaller ones. You’ll bring the business in, and then provide support as needed for our account management team while going after more business. If you have proven operations and sales success in transportation, have a “do whatever it takes mentality”, are willing to bet on yourself to ensure you’re paid handsomely for what you produce, then we should talk.

Responsibilities
- Build, maintain and manage account relationships through constant contact and advocacy
- Offer solutions and solve problems for client’s shipping needs
- Qualify new prospects via inside and outside sales effort
- Make sales presentations to prospective and existing customers
- Engage prospective clients at all levels
- Reach and exceed targeted goals by closing new business and retaining existing customers.
Requirements
- Transportation/logistics experience preferred
- Ability to quickly build relationships
- Outgoing and hardworking attitude
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- Enthusiastic and outgoing personality (self -motivated)
- Adaptability and flexibility (look for win/win)
- Strong bias for action, develops and implements solutions!
- Enjoys and thrives in fast paced, dynamic work environment
- Professional oral and written communication skills
- Proactively solves problems
